Biography

I first came to New England in the summer of 1999 when I volunteered my computer skills at The Loon Preservation Committee in New Hampshire in exchange for some time out on the lakes in hopes of catching some glimpses of the Common Loon. I have always been fascinated by this beautiful bird, but being from southern PA never afforded me the opportunity to see one other than in a book or magazine. I spent the summer gaining all of the experience I would need to continue on in 2000 as the Squam Lake “Loon Ranger” for the summer field program.

In 2001 I was hired on by LPC through the Americorps program to create a biological database that would house 25 years of research data. I was given the chance to learn MS Access, and in the end I was able to provide LPC with a working database. I then went on to acquire my MS Master Certification at a local tech school.

I am currently in the process of creating a database for BRI’s research data as well as their administrative needs.

Research And Special Interests

My interests, other than continuing to learn all that I can about MS Access, would have to be the conservation of the Common Loon.
