Wildlife Photographers and Loon Conservationists
Dan and Ginger are professional wildlife photographers based out of eastern Washington. They have been monitoring the breeding loon population in northeastern Washington for the past 24 years.
Through their photography and dedicated field efforts, Dan and Ginger have documented numerous key findings on loon breeding ecology, behavior, and connecting Washington’s eastern loon population to important migration and wintering areas. Dan and Ginger have assisted with loon surveys, banding efforts, migration tracking, necropsies, and building and installing nesting platforms. Additionally, they were named 2010 Educators of the Year by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for their outreach through their wildlife photography and associated presentations.
