Mark joined the BRI staff as the AFO Avian Research Supplies Operations Manager in January 2019. Mark leads the Avinet Team working with both BRI and AFO in its continued growth in the industry of mist nets and other capture equipment.
Mark graduated from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA) in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies and minors in economics and Spanish. Following this, he spent time working in the financial sector. This included work as a research analyst performing securities lending analysis at work at a large multinational brokerage firm. His work has included managing sales as a regional, national and international sales manager for companies in the publishing and manufacturing. Subsequent to completing his M.B.A. where he was a Peter Paul Scholarship recipient, Mark spent several years in international sales, focusing on developing and growing sales throughout North America and Latin America.
Through his past work, Mark has worked extensively with the USDA, NOAA, and various governmental organizations to help facilitate the export of various products, including the first lobster shipment into specific Latin American markets.
