Erin Covey-Smith, M.F.A.

Erin Covey-Smith, M.F.A.

Graphic Designer/Production Specialist

Erin joined the BRI communications team in summer 2018 to help design and produce our many science publications. She received a B.A. in English and Studio Art from Wesleyan University and an M.F.A in Studio Art from Concordia University in Montreal, where she conducted extensive research into nontoxic printmaking techniques. She continues to advance her technical and design skills through workshops and courses at Maine Media College and Maine College of Art Continuing Studies.

Erin was born and raised in Portsmouth, NH, and though she has lived many places, she has always called coastal New England “home.” Erin moved to Portland in 2012 and instantly fell in love. When not working, you’ll find Erin drawing; “urban-homesteading” in her kitchen; writing poety; or outside in all seasons, skiing, hiking, gardening, running, or just plain enjoying Maine.
