Biography

Oksana is the director of the Wetland Bird Program, and the director of the freshwater component of the Fish Program.

Research Interests:

Assessing contaminant exposure and effects in fresh and saltwater wetlands and estuaries worldwide. Monitoring contaminants in lakes, rivers and estuaries using fish and other organisms as bioindicators.

Current Species of interest:

• Sharp-tailed Sparrows
• Tree swallows
• Belted Kingfishers
• Virginia Rails
• Various shorebirds and wading birds
• Blackbirds
• Freshwater Fish and invertebrates

Future goals:

Expand geographic range to include other continents.
