BRI in the News

BRI news stories have appeared in many regional, national, and international news outlets. These stories help promote awareness of our work, but also promote the general issues of conservation biology and the need to continue research in wildlife health and its implications to human health.

BRI's researchers are available to talk to journalists and provide expert information on both their work and the broader topics of their expertise.

BRI Biologist Authors Seabird Chapter in Canada's Arctic Marine Atlas

BRI Biologist Dr. Iain Stenhouse authored the chapter, "Coastal and Marine Birds of the Arctic" in the recently published Canada's Arctic Marine Atlas

Produced by Oceans North and its partners, the atlas provides an overview of the marine mammals, seabirds, fish and other wildlife that thrive in our northern waters – and highlights the importance of a healthy ecosystem for the people who live there.

The atlas includes seven chapters with a total of 67 images, 77 maps, 33 scientific illustrations and three food-web graphics. Oceans North and its partners hope that the atlas will support conservation efforts to protect this spectacular Arctic ecosystem.
