Lucas Savoy has a B.S. in environmental studies (wildlife biology and management) from Unity College. He joined BRI in 2000 as a wildlife research biologist. Early in his career, he focused primarily on Common Loon contaminant and breeding ecology field studies across North America, while also developing an interest in waterfowl conservation. He is currently the director of the Waterfowl Program and has focused his research on numerous species of waterfowl. He is also the acting director for BRI's Loon Program, and co-director for the Center for Waterbird Studies.
