Lee's professional experience includes nearly 20 years working in sales and marketing. Prior to joining BRI in 1998, he spent time traveling the world and volunteering at several nonprofit organizations, including the Loon Preservation Committee in Moultonborough, NH, where he was a wildlife researcher as well as membership director.
In 2003, he helped introduce the first live LoonCam, using sophisticated video equipment to monitor nesting Common Loons in Maine. Lee recently managed a five-year study of breeding Common Loon activity on Mount Desert Island, Maine, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the Somes Meynell Wildlife Sanctuary.
Lee is now part of the team of loon biologists working across the nation on the 5-year Restore the Call project. He spends his time between the lakes of New Hampshire and Massachusetts monitoring Common Loon populations in those two states.
