The National Loon Center, opening in Crosslake, MN in 2022, will help protect loons for future generations by showing the world how to enhance our lakeshore habitats and freshwater quality, increase loon populations, and reduce unnecessary loon mortality. BRI currently serves on the National Loon Center's Scientific Loon Council.
The National Loon Center’s Scientific Loon Council is comprised of biologists, ecologists, and wildlife scientists have spent years investigating many aspects of common loon ecology.
These scientists not only advise the National Loon Center on conservation matters, but have also complied answers to many common questions people ask regarding loons. The answers are based on the most up-to-date scientific information on loon biology which has been extracted from scientific investigations published in international journals.
